One day at a time
« on: March 14, 2020, 01:20:32 pm »
I found out earlier this week that I have to change all of the courses I teach face-to-face to an online format. The students at my university are not coming back after spring break and I've never taught on line before.  The task is daunting, and it may turn out that after a week of online instruction the students will return and we'll go back to the way it has been.  UGH. I have no way of knowing how this will turn out, and I've been directed to prepare for teaching on line for the rest of the semester.  I have to do the next right thing, be ready, and then let it go -- taking it one day at a time.
Having a sober history, I believe that this will all turn out "ok," but right now I'm in it and it is very uncomfortable.  I need to keep reminding myself of the tools I have and the things I know how to do.  Live in the moment. Take one day at a time.  Take care of first things first.  Do my own footwork and leave the result up to God.
 :)

There is a whole lot of anxiety that disappears when I think of today.  The future has never been so uncertain in my life time.
